Goddess Kali is the quintessential embodiment of shakti, feminine power, which is empowered in Hinduism by very nature. Deepavali blessings to all of you. Today is not only Deepavali, it is the day the rebirth happened in me after realizing the purpose of my incarnation-hood. Tonight we have Ashwin Ammavasya Kali Puja. Actually, the experience that happened in me - the body settling and the blessings happening - the whole thing happened by the grace of Kali. Kali is the lord of settling incarnations in the body. Till she lands incarnations are just Shava (dead bodies). Only when she lands they become Shiva. Pancha predasana (5 dead bodies) becomes Pancha Brahmasana (5 cosmic energies). That is why they symbolically represent Mahadeva lying on the floor and Devi standing on him.
